Maya Lindqvist · Application for Software Engineer at Orbit Payments
Dear Orbit Payments engineering team,
Last year I cut p95 latency on a payments API from 820 ms to 490 ms while the platform grew to two million monthly users. Your posting for a Backend Software Engineer asks for someone who cares about reliability at that scale, which is exactly the work I want to keep doing.
At Northwind Digital I own the order and settlement services in Python and TypeScript. I led the move to an event-driven pipeline on Kafka, consolidated fourteen microservices into six (saving 31% of our AWS bill) and introduced contract tests that took API-drift incidents from eleven a quarter to two. I also mentor two graduate engineers and run part of our on-call rotation, so I know what it costs when a service is not observable.
Orbit's engineering blog on idempotent retries was the most practical thing I read this year. I would like to bring that same care to your ledger services and to the developer experience of the teams that build on them.
I would welcome a conversation about the role. Thank you for your time.
Kind regards, Maya Lindqvist
